Farnaz Ohadi

Acclaimed singer Farnaz Ohadi, along with  Spanish guitarist Peter Mole, present an evening of Persian Flamenco.  The duo will be accompanied by Flamenco dancer Andrea Williams and Persian classical dancer Fereshteh Zakeri.

When Farnaz moved to Canada from her native Iran, she had studied operatic singing, Persian folk singing, then Flamenco cante.  In 2012 she established the Mashregh Ensemble, which combined Persian poetry with Flamenco music. Her debut album “Bird Dance”, a Persian Flamenco collection of original songs, was released last year and she was nominated by the 2017 Canadian Folk Music Awards, in the “Solo World Music Artist of the Year” category.
