blue dirt girl

blue dirt girl is the latest musical project of singer, songwriter, guitarist, and Vancouver indie mainstay Kathryn Sutherland -- and performs in trio, duo, solo, and impromptu configurations . The Notional Space show will feature Albert Klassen on bass and Jason Overy on drums. 

Last summer, blue dirt girl toured its debut album "Crazy Beautiful".

In addition to her blue dirt girl work, Kathryn is a member of the East Van inde bands Hello(again) and Push3. She composes for dance, film, and stage, and produces Chautauqua events -- akin to the old traveling road shows -- which bring together fiercely talented but often quiet artists to share their music and art in public spaces. An element of participatory community-building and social activism is part of each blue dirt girl event.
